Helping Your Child Grow

Is My Child On Track?

Developmental milestones are important clues about how your child is growing, especially when they are younger. While every child develops at their own pace, these early steps build the foundation for what’s next. Waiting to see if they catch up isn’t always the best approach- if you have questions or concerns about your child’s progress, we’re here to help.

To learn more about your child’s development, try the Ages & Stages screener below. It’s an easy way to understand how your child is doing and whether they might benefit from extra support.

What Are Developmental Milestones?

Developmental milestones are key skills and behaviors that most children can do by certain ages. They show how a child is growing in important areas like communication, movement, problem solving, and social skills. These milestones help caregivers understand what to expect and when to seek support if a child might need extra help. For example, by around 6 months, many babies have started to babble and roll over; by age 2, children often begin using simple sentences and can run or climb; by age 5, many can follow multi-step instructions, dress themselves, and engage in imaginative play. Every child is unique, but these milestones give a helpful guide to typical development.

A Closer Look at Communication, Fine & Gross Motor Skills

A screening is a short questionnaire that helps us quickly understand how your child is doing in areas like communication, movement, and social skills. It lets us know if a more in-depth evaluation might be helpful.
An evaluation is more detailed and can help identify specific developmental needs and the best ways to support your child through services or therapy.

If you have concerns about your child’s development- or just want to check in- the Ages & Stages Screener is a great first step. It’s simple, caregiver-friendly, and helps us get a clearer picture of your child’s skills and strengths.
This screener is provided at no charge to you.
Because you know your child best, your input gives us a more accurate view than we might get in a brief in-person visit.

Getting started is simple- just click the button below to begin the screener.
We recommend setting aside a little quiet time to complete it thoughtfully. It takes about 15- 20 minutes, and the more information you share, the better we can understand your child’s development and help determine if any next steps are needed.

Once submitted, your responses will be reviewed by our screening coordinator. The results will be emailed directly to the address you provide.
If the screener shows a need for further support, a referral will automatically be sent to our patient care team, who will contact you using the information you provided.
If no further support is needed, you’ll still receive the results for your records, but no referral will be made.
If you still have concerns after the screener, you’re always welcome to make your own referral to our team for an evaluation- no formal recommendation is needed to take that next step.
