Arkansas First Connections
First Connections is Arkansas’s state-run Early Intervention program, supporting children under 3 who have developmental delays or disabilities. Funded through the state and provided at no cost to families, services take place in natural settings like the home or community. The goal is to help each child actively participate in daily life while giving caregivers the tools and support they need to encourage learning and growth during everyday routines. Kidsource Therapy is proud to be the largest provider of First Connections services in Arkansas, partnering with families across the state to deliver compassionate, family-centered care.
Who Can Be a Part of the First Connections Program?
Children ages birth to thirty-six months who have one or more of the following may qualify for First Connections–
- A developmental delay in one or more areas of development (This delay is typically 25% or more of the child’s chronological age): Social-Emotional, Adaptive, Cognitive, Motor (Fine and Gross) and Language
- A medical diagnosis with a high probability of resulting in a developmental delay
- A high risk of developing a delay due to environmental factors (such as trauma, drug exposure, accidents, etc.)
Educating & Empowering Families
Education is an essential part of our therapy process at Kidsource. We believe that parents and caregivers are the key agents of change in their child’s lives. Therefore, we provide families with the proper support and education to help their children develop and learn.
